Riders Fitness / Preparation
Your fitness and readiness are key to enjoying and successfully completing this ride. Whether you are an experienced cyclist or new to the sport, adequate training and preparation are vital.Â
please consider these essential points:
• Training Plan: Begin your training gradually if you're new to cycling or gradually
increase your routine if you're experienced. Focus on building endurance and comfort
for long rides.
• Mileage and Endurance: Aim to gradually increase your weekly mileage to acclimate
your body to longer distances. Practice riding for extended periods to build stamina.
• Climbing and Terrain: If possible, train on routes that simulate the terrain and
elevation you'll encounter during the ride. Incorporate hill training to prepare for
inclines.
• Rest and Recovery: Remember:  rest days are crucial for your body to recover and
adapt to training. Ensure you allow adequate time for recovery to prevent
overexertion and injury.
Hydration and Nutrition: During training, practice hydration and nutrition strategies
similar to those you plan to use during the event. Learn what works best for you in
terms of fuelling your body for endurance rides.
• Bike Maintenance: Familiarise yourself with basic bike maintenance and repair.
• Bike condition: Ensure your bike is in optimal condition, including regular checks for tire pressure, brakes, and gears. Recommend Service the bike a few weeks before the departure
time.
•Bike Box & Weight Limit : Check the bike box will fit the bike ahead of departure. Ensure you don’t exceed the weight limit of 23kg.
By investing time in physical and mental preparation, you'll enhance your overall experience during the Hijrah Ride. Training not only builds endurance but also instils confidence, helping you enjoy a more fulfilling and rewarding journey
