Werneth Jamia Masjid is currently working towards building a modern purpose-built Masjid to serve the changing needs of its rapidly growing Muslim community. It will serve as a valuable asset within the community, accessible to both Muslims and non-Muslim’s who express an interest in developing their knowledge and learning of Islam. The new Masjid will be located adjacent to the existing building on land which was purchased from Oldham Council back in 2000. Planning permission to build the new Masjid has recently been granted and construction work to prepare the site has already begun. The proposed plans for the new Masjid will not only act as a place of prayer but will also provide many additional facilities to promote the teachings of Islam in the 21st century.

The project is estimated to cost around £4.2 million, the community and cyclists across Lancashire and the Northwest have come together to help raise much needed funds alongside our sponsors
